According to VentureBeat writer and trusted leaker Evan Blass, the re-imagined Nokia 3310 will be unveiled this Sunday, Feb. 26, at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Just last week, news erupted about HMD global's plans to launch a modern version of the original handset, released in early 2000.

The new Nokia 3310 will also "remain a feature phone", with the report noting that it won't come running any fancy Android software or anything.

The new Nokia 3310 is rumored to be deploying an 84 x 84 colored display, per older rumors as well. The device is expected to be available in a variety of color options, such as yellow, blue, green, red and black, notes Android Headlines. The site has put out a couple of more details about the reincarnated variant of Nokia 3310 ahead of its launch. The only difference would be in its thickness and weight, which will make this classic feature phone slimmer, lighter and more attractive.

Mobile World Congress 2017 takes place from February 27 to March 2 and is expected to introduce a host of new smartphones and devices to the market. The interface will be colorful, not monochromatic as in the case of the classic Nokia 3310. The phone is known for its battery life and almost indestructible build. The Symbian S40 developed by Nokia was the most advanced OS for features phones when Nokia bid adieu to smartphones.
