Natalie Portman wont attend Oscars due to pregnancy

Being nominated for a Best Actress Oscar is the ultimate honor. Natalie and husband Benjamin Millepied welcomed son Aleph into their lives about five and a half years ago.

I'm not suggesting that it makes her any more or less deserving of the Academy Award for Best Actress on Sunday, but Portman does already have a statuette of her very own, which she took home for 2011's Black Swan.

On Thusday, fans around the world had to resign themselves to the fact that their Queen Bee, Beyoncé (who is, of course, expecting twins), wouldn't be making her much-anticipated scheduled Coachella headliner date on doctor's orders. That nomination is also for Jackie. She's up against Emma Stone ("La La Land"), Isabelle Huppert ("Elle"), Ruth Negga ("Loving") and Meryl Streep ("Florence Foster Jenkins"). The movie depicts her life after the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy.

DeMaree Atkins, 8, was shot and killed in Houston just moments after getting into a auto crash with her mom. "She didn't. Police said they don't know why the woman was shooting, but said both mom and daughter were not her intended targets.

Portman, who's nominated for best actress for her role as Jackie Kennedy in "Jackie" will also skip Saturday's Independent Spirit Awards where she's got a nom for best female lead.

At least, that's what Natalie Portman is saying. According to Variety, she won the best actress award in 2010 for Black Swan and was nominated in the supporting category in 2004 for Closer, making it Portman's third Oscar nomination overall.
