Sales rose 5 percent to 23.4 trillion won ($20.8 billion).

South Korea's biggest auto manufacturer said in a statement that slow global growth, intensifying competition and concerns over trade protectionism in the auto industry are among the uncertainties for the business. "This is Kia Motors's ultra-mega integrated project which will add to the AP's fast developing automotive ecosystem and will have a spin-off effect on the industrial development and employment in the region", the official pointed out.
