Blue Jays player scores with spectacular dive over catcher

Toronto's Chris Coghlan pulled off an unreal leap over Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina to score a run in the Blue Jays' 6-5 win over St. Louis on Tuesday. He pinch hit in the 11th inning and hit a double, which came to be the winning run of the game as the Cardinals landed their fourth error in the game.

By the end of another long night, it was all but forgotten that the Jays had blown a 4-2 lead, re-upped to 5-4 in the top of the ninth only to see closer Roberto Osuna get dinged with a blown save.

Russell Martin starts at third base.

"Right now I think I'm just in a good place mentally", Pillar said. Said Scioscia: "The four walks were a little uncharacteristic of the way Jesse normally goes about things".

Hendricks became the first Cub in almost 80 years to lead the majors in ERA (2.13) last season but took the mound on Tuesday with the number at 6.19. I didn't really see it.

In the seventh inning, as Coghlan ran toward home base, Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina blocked the plate and attempted to tag him out.

This season, Blue Jays center fielder Kevin Pillar joined the Samsung team as a brand ambassador.

The emphasis on the final word - always - certainly seemed to be directed at Sportsnet studio analyst Gregg Zaun who took a solid run at Stroman on Sunday after the picture demonstrably celebrated his big win over the Angels. "Once he gets (pitches) in the zone, he's going to be a heck of a better hitter". We'll give it a go.

Having barely survived the events of the first film, he served as the main protagonist in Steven Spielberg's massive follow-up. He next appears in another sequel, Thor: Ragnarok , and is voicing a role in Wes Anderson's upcoming toon Isle of Dogs .

"I'm going to talk to Pujols", Stroman said.

Toronto has lost six of it's last 10 games, and as a team, has struck out more than 11 times per game in its last five games.

"We had quite a few guys who put together some really good at-bats with two outs and two strikes in RBI-type situations", manager Rick Renteria said.

The day's earlier game is set to begin at 1:45 p.m. Call-up pitchers Mat Latos and Casey Lawrence, in the roster for injured Aaron Sanchez and J.A. Happ, will start the first and second game, respectively.

The move paid off, as he hit an infield single and was hit by a pitch later in the game. Their third reliever, Deolis Guerra (0-1), gave up the go-ahead homer by Travis, who was off to a 6-for-57 start to the season.

Meanwhile, any way you want to dissect it, Stroman's role in Tuesday's big win was spectacular.

Jesse Chavez had been dealing on the mound Monday, limiting the Jays to only two hits through the first 3.1 innings.
