Hull relegated after thrashing by Crystal Palace

Sam Allardyce's record of warding off Premier League relegation is intact: his Crystal Palace beat Hull City 4-0 to send the Tigers down.

Marco Silva declined to commit his future to Hull City and intends to meet the club's owners this week for talks after a heavy defeat at Crystal Palace condemned his team to relegation back to the Championship after one chaotic year among the elite. Three wins from their first three games got Wanderers up and running, but a run of 12 games without a win either side of Christmas left them in trouble.

On May 14, 2017 at 14:00, in the program of the 37th round of the English Premier League, a duel is planned on the field "Sellhurst Park" in London, where the local Crystal Palace will host Hull City.

Silva sent on Shaun Maloney and Jarrod Bowen at half-time, but Hull lacked poise and Palace held them at bay easily.

Paul Clement declared himself a proud man after Swansea won their fight to stay in the Premier League.

Dawson managed to make another mistake before the match was over, hesitating after a poor clearance which allowed Patrick Van Aanholt to put a shine on the result.

Arsenal's late surge had put Juergen Klopp's side under enormous pressure but they responded in style and will definitely finish in the top-four if they beat relegated Middlesbrough at Anfield on the final day of the season next Sunday. "We just came up short", Hull captain Michael Dawson said. "Throughout the course of the season we haven't been good enough to stay in the league", Huddlestone said on Twitter. He's done good things for our team since he came, but now is the moment to find another solution.

"It was a great effort from the players today, tactically we set out to nullify Hull City and just expose them when we thought they were weak which is they held a high line and put a quality ball in behind and obviously that goes off to a great start with the first goal. It was the flawless performance by the players today and it's terrific for everyone that's taken part since I've been here, particularly the fans".

As with Swansea's 2-0 victory at Sunderland on Saturday, it already appeared that by taking the lead the hardest part was done, and after a quiet period of play the home side added a second in the 34th minute.

- Hull have conceded 13 penalties this season, more than any other side in a single Premier League campaign.

Allardyce said: "For me, it's think back to the results we've gained, say to yourself, "We don't want to waste this - waste beating Chelsea away, Liverpool away and Arsenal at home".
