PS4 Update 4.70 Is Out Now (It Doesn't Do A Whole Lot)

Posted June 01, 2017

This was announced in a notice posted on the Japanese PlayStation website, translated by Gematsu.

Sony released a firmware update for its PlayStation 4 console on Tuesday, May 30. While this does end the PS3's run as a device, the platform itself will live on.

Predictions for the new free PS Vita games for June are include titles related to the upcoming games.

The PlayStation 3 originally released in Japan on November 11, 2006, and in North America on November 17 (PAL territories saw the system launch on March 23, 2007). The premium PlayStation Plus membership also eventually launched in June 2010, offering gamers monthly free games, discounts, exclusive trials and cloud saves.

And of course, Sony suffered one of the most prolific cyber attacks in corporate history in 2011, when 77 million PlayStation Network accounts were compromised, forcing Sony to shut down the service for an unprecedented 23 days. Sony hopes to build a better experience of PS Now for PS4 and PC owners by dropping the other platforms.

Artist installs statue of urinating dog next to 'Fearless Girl' in protest
With the statue attracting frequent kicks and other trauma, he said he took down the sculpture to "save its life". He also told Moneyish , "I'm pro-feminism, but this isn't a statue made by an artist standing up to Wall Street".

"The past two updates have caused havoc with my ps4".

The May games are already available for the PlayStation Plus. It is interesting however to see this announcement as Scott Rohde, PlayStation software product development head, stated in 2014 that people were still buying the PlayStation 3, even after the launch of the PlayStation 4!

This might suggest that Sony is putting more of a focus on playable demos and online coverage than Microsoft. Does this also mean that there is a move by Sony towards the PS5?

Sony has not revealed any details about the rumored Vita successor being called PlayStation Vita 2. Looking at the past, these two titles won't be the end of it as there might be other freebies for PS3 and PS Vita as well. The PS2, for instance, is still the most popular home console to date with sales of over 150m units, while the original PlayStation sold over 100m. The company has sold 78 million hardware units.
