Town Hall Meeting: Acting President Osinbajo Addresses The Displaced In Bakassi

He said the diversity of the country was the reason why other countries have respect for Nigeria.

Yemi Osinbanjo has arrived Calabar, the Cross River State Capital, on an official visit.

Speaking, Gov. Ayade said his vision was to make the state the destination for investment in Africa.

Prof. Osinbajo stated this while responding to issues raised by stakeholders at the town hall meeting in Calabar, organized in continuation of the series of engagements with leaders in the Niger Delta region.

"We are greater when we are together than when we are apart".

The acting president later performed the ground-breaking ceremony of Cross River Rice City Project and inaugurated the Calabar Garment Factory, all situated inside the park. When people speak of Nigeria, it is because of its diversity.

In response, the Acting President said Cross River is historic in Nigeria assuring that the Federal Government can never forget a strategic state like Cross River.

He said, "Industrialization is important if we must achieve massive development in the country and I think what I have witnessed here today in Calabar is one of the best industrial hub in Africa which would fast track economic development in the country".

Osinbajo was received at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport by Governor Ben Ayade in the company of members of the state executive, before proceeding to the palace of the Obong of Calabar, His Eminence Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, for a courtesy visit.

He said that the federal government would support any genuine project by any state government for the benefit of the people.
