McCain: Americans 'stupid' to travel to North Korea

Posted June 21, 2017

Fred Warmbier, Otto's father, denied reports that Kim Jong Un bestie Dennis Rodman had anything to do with his son's release, and placed the credit squarely on Team Trump, telling the press last week that, "Last evening we received a very nice phone call from President Trump who told us that Secretary of State Tillerson worked hard to help bring Otto home". Tensions between the United States and North Korea have been heightened by dozens of North Korean missile launches and two nuclear bomb tests since the beginning of past year in defiance of U.N. Security Council resolutions.

His family said in a statement released by a hospital that Warmbier died Monday afternoon.

"The way his detention was handled was appalling and a tragedy like this must never be repeated", it said in a statement. Unresponsive wakefulness is a medical term for persistent vegetative state.

"It's unlikely that Washington and Seoul will let Warmbier's death entirely derail their efforts at talks because North Korea's nuclear weapons program is such a serious and immediate threat", said Koh Yu-hwan, a North Korea expert at Seoul's Dongguk University.

"If people are that stupid that they still want to go to that country, then at least they assume the responsibility for their welfare", McCain said.

McIlroy hits back after accused of being 'bored' by Elkington
Rory McIlroy has hit back at suggestions he is "bored" with golf after making an early exit from the US Open for the second successive year .

"The fact that he died so quickly suggests he was getting some sort of medical treatment that could be withheld", Naidech told NBC News. We had held onto hope that he might recover, and have the life that he should have had, but now those hopes are gone, and we too are reeling with the shock of a young man's life taken well before his time.

If he developed pneumonia, a urinary tract infection or a bloodstream infection, the family may have chose to withhold antibiotics. Investigators are still not certain what caused his death. Several senators said they were considering a travel ban. The university's chancellor said the arrest was not connected to PUST and that Kim had been involved with other activities, including helping an orphanage.

Warmbier passed away at age 22 on Monday. "One is infection", he said. But I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who wishes he'd toss tradition aside and just lay into Trump. "That can be catastrophic and precipitous". While North Korean officials stated he fell into a coma after contracting botulism, USA doctors who examined Warmbier said he suffered severe neurological trauma while in detention and showed no traces of the toxin. He said it's somewhat feasible that Warmbier could have suffered from botulism and that if he was given a sleeping pill while already paralyzed from the botulinum toxin, that could have caused him to stop breathing and his heart to stop, leading to brain damage.

Since their son's arrest, Mr. and Mrs.Warmbier who live in the tiny city of Wyoming, Ohio, had not heard anything from their child. When Warmbier was returned to his family in OH last week, he was unable to see, speak, or acknowledge verbal commands.

Some outside experts see an internal divide in North Korea between officials who believe solving the long standoff with Seoul and Washington is the best way to improve the country's economy and worldwide standing, and hard-liners who believe that outside pressure, isolation and animosity help keep the ruling Kim family in power by solidifying domestic support.
