CBS New York reports that police have confirmed two people shot on the 16th floor of the hospital.

A gunman opened fire at a hospital in New York City Friday afternoon, shooting multiple people including at least three doctors, according to the New York Times.

The gunman, who police identified as 45-year-old Dr. Henry Bello, was a former employee of the hospital. He was wearing a lab coat and apparently concealed the rifle under the coat, the AP reported, citing a source. Several other people were hurt. Reports say he killed himself. Police were going up floor by floor looking for him early on.

Gunfire broke out at 2:50 p.m. ET inside the Bronx Lebanon Hospital, according to the NYPD.

The company later added it has notified law enforcement officials in connection with the cyber intrusion. Sistema said it plans to appeal against both the asset freeze and the ban on receiving dividend income.

Some reports also speak of a fire in the building.

The New York City mayor tweeted saying he was aware of the situation.

A scene taken from the chopped shows a number of NYPD vehicles gridlock the streets around the hospital. Police later cleared the airspace, forcing SkyFoxHD to leave the area.

The hospital is around 120-year-old and claims that there are almost 1,000 beds spread across multiple units.
