Authorities arrived at the Peachtree Crossings mobile home park to find three victims dead from gunshot wounds, police said.

Authorities have been searching for Kenneth Lever since the three were shot to death at a mobile home park in Gardendale, near Birmingham.

Gardendale police released a photo of a potential suspect in a Facebook post and told residents to stay inside while they looked for a man described as an active shooter.

Police in Gardendale identified Kenneth Dion Lever, 52, as the suspected gunman in the incident, and they've started a manhunt to locate him. Police asked residents to remain inside most of Wednesday morning as they searched for Lever, who they considered armed and unsafe.

AL.com reported that Lever is from Florida.

Gardendale police, Birmingham, Homewood, Warrior, Kimberly police and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office have set up a perimeter.

In that case, a 6-year-old victim at the time accused Lever of sexually assaulting her beginning in June 2005, the York Dispatch reported. According to local news, Lever now has charges against him in Pennsylvania for sexual abuse of a minor.

At the time of the arrest, police were clearing out a crowd from the park's parking lot, the police report says. Adolphus Washington was arrested on weapons charges at an OH water park this weekend.

Lever, who is armed with a handgun, fled into the woods following the shooting.

The Lower Windsor Township Police Department also arrested Lever in two separate sexual assault cases on September 28 and October 13, 2015, according the York Daily Record.

Dana Lever sought the protective order claiming her ex-husband was stalking and harassing them.

Officials say the suspect may be headed back to the Florida panhandle in either a White Honda accord or a black Chevrolet Camaro.

He is current free on $200,000 bond in those cases. The girl, according to public records, had been seeing a therapist and the therapist called the mother with concerns.

Walker declined comment on court cases involving Lever.
