According to Canada Soccer, cities have been asked to provide an overview of transportation infrastructure, past experience hosting major sporting events, available accommodations, venues and other relevant information.

Seven cities in Canada are under consideration, including Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, Regina, Toronto and Vancouver.

A complete list of the cities being considered can be found here.

In total, 49 stadiums in the United States, Mexico and Canada will be considered for inclusion in the official bid.

Sunil Gulati, left, President of the United States Soccer Federation, Decio de Maria, centre, President of the Mexican Football Federation, and Victor Montagliani, President of the Canadian Soccer Association, announced Monday that the three countries will bid for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The United Bid Committee will trim the list by late September. Final bids are due in January 2018.

Trump blasts McConnell again on failure to repeal ACA
Trump's social media director Dan Scavino lambasted McConnell on Twitter earlier on Wednesday for offering "more excuses". McConnell's caucus failed to pass an Obamacare repeal and replace bill before they left town for the August recess.

The United States, which previously served as host nation in 1994, next continues the process of identifying its potential host cities.

Other Texas stadiums are the Cotton Bowl, AT&T Stadium and the Alamodome.

The 2026 World Cup will be the first tournament using FIFA's expanded 48-team format.

"We were incredibly successful with the firm we brought in (Bush Turf), so that wouldn't be an issue", said Jenn Hathaway, spokeswoman for Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, which oversees U.S. Bank Stadium.

For the 2026 bid, Soldier Field only would be eligible to host a group play game because its 61,500 doesn't meet the 80,000 minimum for the opening match or final. "The bid committee will also evaluate cities on their commitment to sustainable event management, aspirations to develop soccer, and the positive social impact they anticipate in the local community and beyond stemming from the event".
