Young immigrants shout down Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi

Several dozen young immigrants shouted down Pelosi, the top Democrat in the House, during the event, after her recent conversations with President Trump over the future of a program that grants many of them legal status.

The Washington Post reports that after she exited the building, Pelosi said the protesters were "completely wrong" to blame Democrats like her for the government's failure to pass immigration reform.

The protesters called Pelosi a liar and demanded a clean DACA bill, which extends legal protections to young undocumented immigrants. After smiling and occasionally trying to speak through much of the protest, an aggravated Pelosi told the protesters to "just stop it, now", shortly before she was led out of the room. She was scheduled to appear Monday afternoon in Sacramento for a similar event.

"Some people are saying, "Well if you pass that, then what about other undocumenteds?' Well comprehensive immigration reform is our goal, we think this is a good first step and we do want to protect the families", she said".

We remember all too well how for eight years the Democrats laid siege to our communities, raiding and deporting almost three million people, of our family members and loved ones.

The strategy backfired when a group of young protesters went after the Democrats instead with accusations that party leaders aren't doing enough to stem deportations.

Granted, there's value for Democrats in pinning down Trump and sowing division among Republicans. Pelosi, attempting to clarify confusion, reportedly told Democratic House whips, according to Politico, "We made a deal to make a deal". But the shouting did not stop.

"So I was actually. we're all disrupters ourselves", she said. Ms. Pelosi, did you think we would forget? All we have are inflated expectations of a deal because Schumer and Pelosi, after a dinner meeting with Trump, rushed out a statement declaring, "We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall".

Schumer and Pelosi said they reached a deal with the White House on legislation that would offer eventual citizenship to the immigrants in question.

Even Trump's willingness to bypass Republicans in Congress and work with Democrats to strike an immigration bargain failed to faze supporters like Dave Buckett.

Half an hour after the press conference started, Pelosi left. Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) warned Pelosi and Schumer to "exercise extreme caution" as they move forward with this deal, saying that he didn't like its "starting point". "This administration's heartless, endless efforts to target and marginalize immigrant communities makes the immediate passage of a clean DREAM Act all the more urgent", said SAALT executive director Suman Raghunathan. Trump said earlier this month he will halt the program instituted by former President Barack Obama if Congress does not act to continue it. Trump gave Congress six months to fix it. President Donald Trump has given Congress six months to come up with an immigration reform package if it wants to continue protecting 800,000 immigrants brought into the US illegally as children.
