Ivanka Trump to visit Hyderabad tomorrow

Startup founders, investors and tech leaders from around the world are heading to Hyderabad, India for the 8th annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit, co-hosted by the USA and Indian governments.

As the GES here will focus on women, he said this was critical as women represent significant part of population but also represent the business world. The summit, which is expected to be attended by representatives of almost 150 countries, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he flags off the Hyderabad Metro Rail at Miyapur station.

Ivanka Trump will give a keynote address at the inaugural session today, along with PM Modi.

Co-hosted by the Indian and US Governments, GES is being held for the first time in South Asia. There are another 400 from across other countries and India as the host country will have 500 delegates. He underlined the need to help women entrepreneurs network with mentors, finance and market opportunities.

The US delegation will also include Mark Green, Administrator, US Agency for International Development, Ray Washburne, CEO, Overseas Private Investment Corporation, Jovita Carranza, Treasurer of the United States, Neomi Rao, Administrator, Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs and Patricia Green, Director of the Women's Bureau, Department of Labor.

Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump's daughter and purportedly his most trusted adviser, is set to visit India on Tuesday, to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit or GES to be held in the city of Nizams - Hyderabad.

"Women will represent 52.5 per cent of the entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem supporters at GES 2017". Prime Minister Narendra Modi had invited Ms Trump to lead the USA delegation for the summit, which aims to connect entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem supporters from around the world.

Chhillar and actor Sonam Kapoor will speak in a session on "The Female Influencer: Advancing Women's Opportunities in the Media Industry".

The summit will bring together 1,500 entrepreneurs from 150 countries for training and mentoring sessions as well as for networking and investment matchmaking sessions. "It demonstrates the administration's commitment to the principle that when women are economically empowered, their communities and countries thrive", Ivanka Trump had mentioned earlier in a preview to her Indian visit.
