This past Tuesday marked a change in the Visiting Writers Series. Christopher Phillips altered the format of the Writers Series as he opened up the discussion to the people in the audience, encouraging them to participate.

Phillips, the author of three books on philosophy, calls his program “The Socrates Café,” and has introduced it to countries all around the world.

For all of us diehard fans of “The O.C.’, Thursday night started out on a rather unusual note. Tuning into Fox left us not with images of our favorite angst-ridden teenagers, but with those of a well-manicured lawn and a podium bearing the Presidential seal.

IUPUI came into Hinkle Fieldhouse Tuesday night and made quick work of the Bulldogs, sweeping Butler with a 30-23, 30-26, 30-14 victory. Devika Bellamy posted 37 assists for the Jaguars in the 83-minute match.
