The Bulldogs jumped out to a 13-7 lead early in the game but the Jacksonville offense proved to be too much for Butler to handle. Wide receiver Eldin Ferguson led the way for the Dolphins, catching three touchdown passes from quarterback Anthony Salgado. Salgado led Jacksonville to a school record 585 yards of total offense, 356 of which came on the ground.

After a disappointing loss to IUPUI last Tuesday, the Butler volleyball team got off to a hot start in Horizon League play, defeating both Cleveland State and Youngstown State 3-2.

The Butler men’s and women’s cross country teams had two runners place in the top ten at this weekend’s Roy Griak Invitational at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Minneapolis, Minn. Last year’s NCCA track champion Victoria Mitchell and Scott Overall led their teams to sixth and eleventh place finishes respectively.

On Friday, Sept. 23, the Butler men’s soccer team defeated Xavier 3-0, its largest margin of victory of the season, without three of its key players. The Bulldogs now 6-2, dropped Xavier to 1-4-1 on the season in the rain-soaked and muddy game.

IUPUI came into Hinkle Fieldhouse Tuesday night and made quick work of the Bulldogs, sweeping Butler with a 30-23, 30-26, 30-14 victory. Devika Bellamy posted 37 assists for the Jaguars in the 83-minute match.
