A male Butler student was assaulted twice in the same day while standing outside of his Butler Terrace residence. On Oct. 22 at approximately 8 p.m., the student was unloading personal items from his vehicle, and was approached by two black males in their late teens, Butler Deputy Chief Andy Ryan said.
The two men demanded the student’s money, and when he refused, they ran to a green and black pickup truck and drove away. As they were running, one of the men fired a round out of his gun, which the student said looked like an old archaic rifle.
Students should try to remove the opportunity of being confronted by not walking alone, especially at night, and should not carry large sums of cash.
