The Butler University Police Department has reported three incidents involving persons gaining entry to residences while the residents were in their homes.

According to a BUPD release last week, the first incident occurred on Dec. 4 and involved three black males knocking on the front door of an occupied student residence requesting assistance for a disabled vehicle. When the occupants of the residence opened the door for the males to use the phone, the three black males forced their way inside and took property.

As the Butler women’s basketball team finds more success this season, the individual awards keep rolling in. For the first time in nine years, the Bulldogs have had three different players named Horizon League Player of the Week. Several players have their names posted all over the league’s leader boards. And now one for the coach, as Beth Couture picked up her 300th career victory Wednesday night over Loyola 85-72 at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Staircases leading to nowhere. Matchsticks, popsicle sticks of destruction piled to the sky in a monument to what once was. A rotten, lingering stench that permeated all substances.
