Five Butler students were held up by gunpoint while walking just south of campus on Saturday night. According to the Butler University Police Department, the incident took place at 11:47 p.m. as the group of students walked southbound near the 4300 block of Clarendon Street.

When we had the first student strike here in Le Mans, I was amazed, curious, and glad to have a day off from classes, even if it did mean missing my favorite class.

Butler’s men’s lacrosse team challenged No. 9 Princeton University on Friday, March 24, in Princeton, N.J. The Bulldogs lost to the Tigers 9-4 dropping their record to 1-6. Despite the score, the Bulldogs and Tigers closely matched each other in statistics. The Bulldogs tallied 34 shots in the game, while the Tigers posted 36. The Bulldogs scooped up 19 ground balls, only four less than the Tigers. The teams equally split the 16 face-offs.

I have to admit, punk rock ain’t my bag (baby). In fact, I downright hate the stuff. What bands like The Clash and The Ramones made a perfectly legitimate genre of music has lately come under the control of bands that spew nothing but whiny, over-produced crap (see: Simple Plan). So I wasn’t too psyched about seeing the first local band, Track 32.
