Before the Horizon League championship game between Butler and Wright State, the following announcement was read over the public address system, “The Horizon League seeks to promote ethical conduct amongst our student-athletes, coaches and fans. We request your cooperation in displaying good sportsmanship towards the game participants and game officials. The Horizon League will act to support an environment from foul or abusive language or gestures. Thank your for your cooperation.” This expectation must be enforced or the words in the announcement are meaningless.

Over the past several years the Indianapolis music scene has declined to almost a snail like pace compared to our Ohio counterparts including Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland, as well as Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky. The real decline is amongst all age venues with most local favorites having closed their doors permanently with very few replacements. It’s not like Indianapolis had an abundance of local all age venues to choose from, but there was a time when there were more options besides the Emerson Theatre, Irving Theatre, and Club Logos.
