Jaime Koch walked into her house after a long day of work and class. She paused for a moment outside of the house, fondly referred to as the “Blonde Bombshell,” and took a deep breath. The five roommates had thrown a part the night before and Koch knew she was about to walk into a disaster zone. It’s obvious that the Butler cheerleaders are having fun as they entertain and excite the crowd at all of the games. However, as any cheerleader will tell you, being a part of the squad is certainly not just “fun and games.” The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra performs a wide range of music including classical and contemporary. We attended “Let’s Go to the Movies,” a performance that is part of the symphony’s “Northwest Pops” series. Before the show, our group was given the opportunity to talk to one of the producers of the show and a singer who recently performed on Broadway in “Les Miserables.” I was surprised to learn that the symphony commonly only has two practices before performing a show. Thanksgiving. Wikipedia defines it as a traditional North American holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November to give thanks at the conclusion of the harvest season.

Au bon pain is a great place to stop for sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups and baked goods. With three locations in Indianapolis, there's no excuse not to check it out.

The restaurant even sells food market-style, with shelves of cut vegetables and fruit, salads and even licorice and nuts available.

The variety of options and flavors is impressive -- they had eight different soups available when I visited. But don't get nervous about decisions; there are sample cups on the counter, so you can taste before you buy.

Prices are not bad, either, especially for the quality you get. Whole salads are around $6, but can also be reduced to a half size. The sandwich and soup combo was about $7.

The baked goods are delicious, too. We bought a shortbread cookie dipped in chocolate (among the best I've tasted), a key lime sugar cookie (original and tasty) and a particularly yummy English toffee cookie.

We also tried a chocolate chip muffin, which, though I'm not a big muffin girl, was pretty good too.

For the health conscious, the restaurant even has a computer on which customers can search the nutritional facts of all of its goods. Surprisingly, I found that there were several healthy choices on the menu.

Au bon pain is a great place for a quick but quality meal. I'll definitely be back soon.
