The Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science is holding a poster contest to celebrate women’s history month in March. The department will be accepting posters featuring famous mathematicians or any topic involving women in mathematics.

The contest is open to all students wanting to help the department honor the dual role women play in and out of the mathematical world.

“The goal of the poster contest is to increase awareness of the contributions of women to mathematics,” said Dr. Rebecca Wahl, the chair of the poster contest. “We are intending to make this contest a tradition in our department as part of the Women's History Month celebration at Butler.”

Maire discusses the political candidates of her choice and her rational behind not supporting others...

I have been brought up in a very politically conscious and politically involved family. We debate current issues at all family gatherings, we talk policy, and if we don’t agree with someone’s position, we insult them by claiming that they are closet Republicans.

A hard fought rally just wasn’t enough as the women’s basketball team suffered a 67-64 loss to Loyola on Saturday.

Butler (15-7, 5-6) was down 59-46 with less than 10 minutes remaining when the comeback attempt began. An 18-4 run was keyed by freshman Azjah Bass’ 3-pointer that gave the Bulldogs a 64-63 lead with 2:07 to go.

The stage was dark. The crowd fell into a hush. Then, in an amazing feat of time and space, the clock spun backwards almost 50 years.

As the lights came up, five men in purple suits shimmied their way to the microphones with a punchy opening number.
