Dave Phelps calls himself a statistic.

The 26-year-old former Butler student spoke to students Thursday night in Jordan Hall about the 2002 drunk-driving experience that changed his life and the lives of four others. He says it is important to him to let students know what their actions have the power to do.

Despite late leads in two of the three games, the baseball team came up short in all three contests at UIC on Friday and Saturday.

In the first game on Friday, both teams had outstanding pitching, with no score heading into the ninth inning. Senior Joe Pauley changed that in Butler’s (6-17, 3-6) half of the inning with his third home run.
